چکیده

We propose an operational component speciication method that provides execution models for analyzing behaviors as well as adopts checking rules for consistency. Our proposed operational component speciica-tion method will help the users to capture the meaning of components in a precise and abstract manner. Our method is mainly based on two ideas, object-orientation and the action system. Object-orientation makes speci-cations easy to understand and the action system leads to a simple and clear view of behaviors. Our method utilize Petri net formalism, especially the notion of tokens , in order to handle dynamic connguration in each component. We develop an extended version of Petri nets, called Object Petri Nets, to build execution models and extend analysis techniques of Petri nets.

The use of inverse quadratic radial basis functions for the solution of an inverse heat problem

‎In this paper‎, ‎a numerical procedure for an inverse problem of‎ ‎simultaneously determining an unknown coefficient in a semilinear ‎parabolic equation subject to the specification of the solution at‎ ‎an internal point along with the usual initial boundary conditions ‎is considered‎. ‎The method consists of expanding the required‎ ‎approximate solution as the elements of the inverse quadrati...

Formal Requirements Specification Analysis of Attitude Control of the International Space Station Alpha

An operational formal method exists that is based on the externally visible behavior of a program. This formal method is modular, fully abstract, and has a form that is similar to the notations used in industrial requirements specifications. The specification model of the operational formal method is used to analyze the failure, detection, isolation, and recovery process for the attitude contro...

On the Specification of Linking Interfaces in Distributed Real-Time Systems

This paper is concerned with building large distributed real-time systems out of computational components that interact by the exchange of messages across linking interfaces (LIFs). The notions of an operational and a meta-level specification of a LIF of a component are introduced. The operational specification is concerned with the data structures and the timing of the messages that are exchan...

Transformation of MTCCS into an Extension of Timed Automata

This paper presents results from work in progress on finding a method for specification and formal verification of realtime concurrent systems incorporating a non-trivial data component. To model such systems, we use the real-time process algebra MTCCS, a Timed CCS variant, enhanced with a data manipulation model. Our verification method is based on the dual-language approach in which temporal ...

On the Specification of Full Contracts 1 Stephen Fenech

Contracts specify properties of an interface to a software component. We consider the problem of defining a full contract that specifies not only the normal behaviour, but also special cases and tolerated exceptions. In this paper we focus on the behavioural properties of use cases taken from the Common Component Modelling Example (CoCoME), proposed as a benchmark to compare different component...
